Not that anyone should care but here are some of the sounds a passerby might hear emanating from the Raynerfamily abode this summer. These CDs are what we (well Paul mostly) believe are among 2009's best albums so far (in no particular order) and we recommend to others: |

Yeah Yeah Yeahs |

| Awesome third album from the Raynerfamily's favourite band. WRPLA blows away Empire and is arguably better than their self-titled debut. Certainly their most mature, diverse work to date. This should be a candidate for album of the year. Now all we need is a US tour. It's been 3 years since Orlando! | A gutsy foray into dance/electronica from one of the few American bands able to rival the best UK indie rock. But fear not fans of the YYYs raw punk sound of yesteryear, despite what you might read in reviews they saved room for some of Nick Zinner's superbly dark atmospheric guitar & Karen O's shriek. | Reviews I read before first hearing this talked about all sorts of influences. But none mentioned what Primary Colours sounds like to me - a kind of Psychedelic Furs meets Joy Division 25 years on. Just bury yourself under headphones and turn the volume up for "New Ice Age" - Great stuff! | ||
