Phoenix, AZ—January 2, 2003, 1:00pm—In January 2003 veteran Arizona R&B-Blues-Soul favorite COLD SHOTT and THE HURRICANE HORNS featuring Small Paul will release a new CD, “If You Got The Blues….” featuring live performances recorded in October 2002 at Phoenix’s own The Rhythm Room.  The public is invited to celebrate with the band and attend the CD Release parties scheduled in Arizona during January and February 2003. The CD will be first available on January 24, 2003.

CD Release Party Schedule:

·         Friday, January 24, 2003 – The Rhythm Room, 1019 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix, AZ,  602-265-4842, show starts at 9:00pm, $6 cover.

·         Friday and Saturday, January 31 and February 1, 2003 – Lyzzards, 120 N. Cortez St., Prescott, AZ, 520-778-2244, shows start at 9:00pm, no cover.

·         Sunday, February 16, 2003 – Apache Gold Casino and Resort, just east of Globe, AZ on Highway 70, San Carlos, AZ, show from 3:00pm to 7:00pm, no cover.

·         Saturday, February 22, 2003 – Char’s Has The Blues, 4631 N. 7th Ave., Phoenix, AZ, 602-230-0205, show starts at 9:00pm, $ 6 cover.

 

The CD was recorded and mixed by Arizona’s Emmy Award Winning Clarke Rigsby of Tempest Recording, Tempe, AZ.  The recording is presented in tribute to Ted Kowal, Cold Shott’s founder/manager/bass player who passed away in July 2002.  In addition to the release parties, the band intends to make the recording available through local music outlets and the band’s web site.  Proceeds from the sale of the CD will support the TED KOWAL MEMORIAL FUND, helping subsidize high school music and sports scholarships in the East Phoenix Valley.  Contributions to the TED KOWAL MEMORIAL FUND can also be made at any Bank of America branch office.
