Barry D. Teater, 38, is Director of Public Affairs at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center in Research Triangle Park, N.C. A former newspaper reporter and editor, he holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Eastern Kentucky University and a master's degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He lives in Raleigh, N.C., with his daughters, Hayley, 12, and Hannah, 8.
