About Allan Gibson


Mr. Gibson has over twenty-four years experience in management consulting, with particular emphasis on business reengineering and information technology management. He has directed or participated in over 100 consulting assignments spanning a wide range of information technology and business issues for both public and private sector clients. Mr. Gibson has conducted business reengineering engagements in the utilities, publishing, manufacturing, distribution, software and health care industries and has established business reengineering consulting groups for three large consulting organizations. He has developed systems plans and implemented information systems in the financial services, manufacturing, health care, government, distribution, telephone, software, utility, marketing, aviation, and food service industries. Mr. Gibson is experienced in business reengineering techniques, data-driven methodologies, information engineering, and Computer-Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools. SELECTED BUSINESS REENGINEERING EXPERIENCE

HR Re-Engineering and SAP Implementation. For an international paper products manufacturer, managed the facilitation processes and resources to lead three client teams through the design and implementation of the SAP HR system in a reengineered HR environment.

Compensation and Benefits Re-Engineering. Provided education, training, facilitation, project management and quality assurance to internal client project team re-engineering compensation and benefits processes for 17,000 person organization. Reengineered processes and developed recommendations for outsourcing, new technologies, employee service centers, new total compensation organization and jobs. Project benefits fund the acquisition of global HR Information System.

Business Re-Engineering Knowledge Transfer. Provided education, training and project facilitation to an international consulting firm with a staff of 1500 consultants. Also provided assistance to first enterprise reengineering project with Danish client.

Business Re-Engineering Training and Project Facilitation. Trained a client team and facilitated an initial re-engineering project for order fulfillment in a large manufacturing company. Identified 55 change ideas through redesign workshops. Project now in implementation.

Health Care Business Re-Engineering Implementation. Managed the pilot implementation of a major process redesign in health care, requiring new procedures, job definitions, organizational structure, management policies and recognition and reward systems. Managed the rapid development of a knowledge-based client server application to support the new process. Pilot achieved 40% productivity increase and projected a 1000% ROI.

Business Re-Engineering Knowledge Transfer. Won competitive procurement process against Big 6 accounting firms and independent consulting organizations to provide business re-engineering methodology and training materials to a large regional utility company. Granted right to adapt for internal and external use. Provided consulting services to assist in adaptation of methodology and training materials to client environment.

Health Care Business Re-Engineering. Conducted two business reengineering projects for core business processes of a health-care organization. Evaluated current business processes and conducted business reengineering workshops. Developed new process design for Arrange Care and Bill Payor business processes. Identified fast track implementation projects. Finalized report and gained implementation approval for recommendations. Managed implementation projects to transform patient financial and administrative services and to acquire new information technology solutions.

Reengineering Project Assistance. Provided consulting assistance to a major manufacturing company to assist the project team complete its first business reengineering project. Facilitated a major review conference with over sixty participants, assisted in the development of final recommendations, and outlined an approach to develop the implementation plan for steering committee presentation.

Business Re-Engineering Knowledge Transfer Program. As an external consultant, created an international business reengineering consulting practice for a major software vendor through the development of the methodology, training and certification program, quality assurance program, organization and staffing plan, and marketing plan and collateral.

Business Re-Engineering Knowledge Transfer Program. Built a business reengineering consulting practice for a large consulting organization. Developed a business reengineering methodology for a consulting organization incorporating aspects of service excellence, resource productivity, total quality, and structured analysis. Trained staff and directed business re-engineering consulting engagements.

Reengineering Customer Service Processes. Directed a business reengineering project to improve service, quality and productivity for an order-processing/customer service organization. Identified improvements to policies, procedures, information technology support, organization, staffing and employee management resulting in a 20% productivity improvement and significant service and quality improvements.
