Amidst a great celebration on Sunday, May 4, 2008, Maj-Britt Johnson accepted our call to become our settled minister. She will be with us starting on August 15, 2008. See more on the C3H Wiki page, including photo and prior sermons
At 10:30am on Sunday, June 15, 2008, Erich Lieth, vice-chair of the Board, called to order the congregational meeting to vote on the ordination of Patty Hanneman. An estimated 50-100 members were present, easily meeting the quorum requirement. After a short explanation of the nature of the business Erich asked for a motion to vote for Patty's ordination in conjunction with Eno River Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (ERUUF). The vote proceeded by acclamation and passed unanimously. Thus in August the Community Church of Chapel Hill will join ERUUF in a celebration to ordain Patty Hanneman. Details to follow.
Glenn Mehrbach, our Music Director, has issued a casting call for Gilbert & Sullivan's Iolanthe, to be performed October 10-12, 2008. See full announcement for details.
Our church is partnering to build a house this Spring (2008) in Hillsborough's Fairview neighborhood. Our coordinator is Dave Morgan (morgandb@gmail.com 967-8486). You can read more about it here.
