LOGGING RAILROADS OF ALABAMA

Is written by noted southern rail historian Thomas Lawson Jr. The book took four years to write after 40 years of research through numerous sources, including courthouse documents.

The individual Alabama logging railroads were laid to a dozen different track guages varying from 30-inch to 62-inch.

This book contains many photographs of Shay, Heisler, Climax and Dunkirk geared locomotives.

Rod locomotives ranging in size from 0-4-OT to 4-8-0 are pictured (including an ex-Colorado narrow gauge 2-8-0)!
