The Central Alabama Daylily Society sponsors this award given annually to a Region 14 hybridizer for the seedling receiving the most votes by those touring the Sally Lake Bed at Spring meeting.  The seedling may be registered, but must not have yet been introduced into commerce.  This year the Sally Lake Bed was hosted by John Falck at HemHaven Gardens near Fairhope, Alabama. 

The 2004 winner was #17, hybridized by CADS member Paul Aucoin.   #17 will be registered in 2005 as LONGSHOT, and is a cross of SO MANY STARS (Kaskel 1999) and SOUL OF FIRE (Aucoin 2003).
