Brown Cakes - Brune Kager

Place first 6 ingredients in an iron pot. When hot add soda. Remove the pot from fire and stir in flour with a spoon. Leave the dough for 3 or 4 days. Then roll it out very thin using a little flour if it sticks. Cut into oblong shapes and place them on the greased baking-sheet. Each cake is decorated with half a peeled and scalded almond or a bit of candied peel. Bake in a fast oven 'til they are brown and crisp.
