Pastry Twists - Klejner

These small pastry-biscuits are only seen at Christmastime. The first 5 ingredients are stirred into a solid dough. Then work in cream and flour. Roll the dough out very thin. Cut into 4" strips. Make an incision in the middle of these and draw one end through. Drop them in boiling fat in an iron pot. When they have acquired a nice brown color, take them up and spread them on brown paper to drip off. Put them in a cake tin and they will keep for a long time.
