Mix salt and pepper with the flour and pound it into the steak. Brown the steak in the butter. Add onion, tomato pureé and water.

- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- 4 tablespoons flour
- 2 pounds Swiss steak
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons onion -- chopped
- 3 tablespoons tomato pureé
- ½ cup water
- 1 cup sour cream
Cover and simmer 1 hour over low heat, or bake 1 hour at 250 degrees in a preheated oven.
Add sour cream and mix well. Let simmer ½ hour longer.
