Misc. Notes
According to family notes, born 10 Dec 1801, but Derendorf church records show 10 Nov 1799.

The locality in question may be D-29413 Dahrendorf, a village in Kreis Salzwedel, in the former Prussian province of Sachsen, on the south edge of the Naturpark Elbufer-Drawehn, approximately midway between Uelzen and Salzwedel.
More likely, Derendorf, is the town, located near Düsseldorf and much closer to Elberfeld than Dahrendorf.

Died in 1866 according to Grace Merten Weaver (1886 according to other family records).

According to Joyce Essmiller, Elizabeth survived her husband and re-married, and was burried in a different cemetery (Baden) than Peter.

WPA records done in the 1930s listed Elizabeth Merten as being buried in Baden Cemetery.
The town of Baden was originally settled by German Catholic families from Baden, Germany. Baden Cemetery was in the SE corner of Sec. 36 of German twp, (now Plank twp). It was later moved when the railroad was built and is now entirely gone. The broken stones in the cemetery were placed under a tree and buried in the cemetery ground a little to the SE of the entrance gate. (This was prior to 1970).
