Carl Gage's (scanmed@ix.netcom.com) data: MARGARET A. CHAMBERS was the 8th of 10 children.51 The 1900 Michigan census, shows Margaretta as a "widow" age 75 (born May 1825) and residing at 430 Woodside Avenue in Essexville Village, Hampton Township, Bay Co., MI. and reporting herself as having been married for 47 years and bearing 4 children of whom 3 were currently living. She reports being born in New York and that both her parents were also born in that state. Residing with her is her spinster daughter, Frederica, age 39 (born December 1860), reported as born in Ohio and with no occupation listed. Living in the residence next door is William B. Rouse, age 46 (Born May 1854), a "lumberman" born in New York. He resides with his wife Elsa, age 40 (born August 1859), who reports being born in Michigan with her father born in Wales and her mother born in Vermont.
