The Attendants' Page     Just for those of you kind enough to come to the wedding in clothes you probably wouldn't have chosen yourself for the day.

days to go!

Ooh, my, the time is just flying by.

Fun bit of synchronicity-- recently the "word-a-day" email list I'm part of (yep, call me a geek) chose the following tidbit as the word for the day:

    paranymph (PAR-uh-nimf) noun
1. A groomsman or a bridesmaid.
2. In ancient Greece, a friend who accompanied the bridegroom when he went to bring home the bride, or the bridesmaid who escorted the bride to the bridegroom.
[From Late Latin paranymphus, from Greek paranymphos (masculine and feminine) groomsman, bridesmaid, literally, person beside the bride.]

The schedule for the weekend will differ slightly for all of you. We're going to do the picture-taking duties before the ceremony so that dinner won't be too late. Therefore, all of us are headed over to the Wellesley campus at about 1:00.     We'll do our actual rehearsing as breaks during the phototography timeslot, with a quick walk-through and placement check in the chapel. Sure, it won't give us split-second coordination doing things like this, but then again, we don't want to look as stilted as a bunch of synchronized swimmers.

All female paranymphs will be transported in style from our apartment to the campus by limousine.     All of the males will travel in horse-drawn hay wagon. (kidding-- we're going to try to get a van.)
Talk to you soon,
