Leather-look boxed hardcover
Illustrated by Charles Vess
Published by Donning, August 1988; 1st printing
Limited Edition signed and numbered 58/1000
Purchased in London, UK. This is a beautiful book, to handle, to read and to view. This was my first purchase of a Vess-illustrated book. I found it purely by chance in a comic shop, high on a dusty shelf at the back of the store.
In 1999, Bud Plant was offering to pay $50 to purchase it.
In 2002, I saw an unsigned copy for sale on Amazon.com at $75.
in 2004, I saw a 1st edition softcover selling for over $110.
