Marriage Bond of Alexander Mullins and
Franky Jane Hall
states they were married on August 29, 1889 in Hindman, Knott Co., Kentucky. Franky was the daughter of Rhoda Bentley and Lewis "Bad Lewis" Hall. The parentage of Lewis is still a mystery. Franky Jane Hall had a brother named Jefferson Hall, and I believe that he is one of the signers on this marriage bond.
Alex and Franky Jane had eight children together, two boys and six girls. Alex's obituary states that Franky died with the birth of their last child.
Alex then married Laura Belle Hall (pictured), daughter of Harrison Hall and Elizabeth "Sissy" Bates. They had seven sons and one daughter. Alex & Laura's first child was Alton Mullins. Alton was a school teacher in Knott Co. KY and was killed during an election on November 7, 1933.
Alexander Mullins' had a sister, Nancy. Nancy married Dr. Giles Shores in WV. Later, she was known as Granny Shores. She was a midwife in eastern Kentucky and western Virginia, and is said to have delivered over 1,000 babies.
