The
Strange Cemetery
is located in Kite, Knott County, Kentucky. The cemetery is easy to miss, there is a dirt driveway up the side of Route 7, one mile south of the junction of 582 and Route 7. The driveway goes up a hill, over rail road tracks. In some places, the cemetery is listed as the King Cemetery, in others it is listed as the Strange Cemetery. The sign on the gate clearly shows Strange, while the sign is misspelled "Cemeatery" -- or maybe that is the way they meant it!
Buried along with Robert Lee Strange and Winnie (Mullins) Strange are many of their kin.
Among those buried there are: Pal and Maggie (Strange) Gibson, James King, Ellis Strange, Benjamin Fearl "B.F." Strange, Laura (King) Strange, Evaline (King) Hall, and Drucilla (Amburgey) King.
The cemetery is well cared for and totally enclosed by a wire fence.
