William James Dimeck

was most likely born on April 27, 1888 in Canada.  The birth certificate of his son, Norman, states that he was born in Canada.  His Social Security Application (SS-5) states that he was born on April 27, 1888 in Cass City, Tuscola Co., MI.  William's death certificate, completed by Catherine, states that he was born in Stratford, Canada.  While there are contradictions to the birth place, it is believed that the birth date is correct.

William married Catherine Grace Walsh about 1912.  He was found in the Detroit City Directories for the years 1912 through 1918.  The home (208 Plum Street) was listed as the residence of his father-in-law in 1909.

Pictured with William is his daughter Mae Eileen Dimeck   William and Catherine had another daughter, Helen Grace Dimeck, who passed away when she was almost 3 years old.

William died from injuries suffered in an automobile accident on July 14, 1942 in Wyondotte General Hospital.  He is buried in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Detroit, Wayne Co., Michigan.
