Messier's Greatest Hits
Are you new to sky watching and want to see the big attractions first? Here is a short list of the most spectacular objects for the beginning backyard astronomer. Call them "Messier's Top 30" (plus a few). They are appropriate subjects for viewing with either binoculars or small telescopes (8" or less).
