DRAFT NIGHT:

Several trades were made affecting 1998 and 1999 Draft picks. Frankly, amid all of the confusion, I couldn't keep track of them all, but here are the picks (and one player) that changed hands for the 1999 Draft: Redbirds get Black Sox' #2; Black Sox get Redbirds' #3. Sharks get Rowdies' #5; Rowdies get Sharks' #4. Warriors get Hurricanes' #5; Hurricanes get Warriors' #6. Hurricanes get Rowdies' #4; Rowdies get C Eddie Perez. Also, it was reported in July that the Warriors are supposed to get the Ponys' #3, although I have not received verification from all parties involved...

Conway Cougars -- Traded the Rebels' #1 and the Cougars' #5 in the 1999 Draft as well as Shane Andrews after the season to the Virginia Ponys for the Ponys' #1 and #2 picks in the 1999 Draft, with the following provisions:

#1  If the lottery should affect the pick position between the Rebels #1 pick and the Ponys #1, then the Ponys would receive the lower of the two picks.

#2 If the Ponys end of season record is lower than the Rebels, then this is not applicable.  This is only if the lottery should change the draft position.

#3 If the Rebels pick should slip higher than what the Rebels finish(ex: finish 3rd worst, pick in 4th position or higher), then the Ponys would receive the highest 5th round pick of the Cougars.  Unless ofcourse the previous provison applies. Otherwise, Ponys would receive latest 5th round pick.
