The Brazen Altar
Text Ex 27:1-8

Intro... re: importance of the altar

God Himself has commanded it's construction...
It's..	Dimensions..vs 1
	Details...	vs 2,4,5
	Devices...	vs 3
	Divine Purpose...	vs 6-8
		A. to be carried by the Levites
		B. Patterned by God

 To Further view it's purpose we can look at it's name...

I. Called the Brazen Altar  	Ex 38:30
	Brass was used to cover it.
	word for brass not only means such, but tense of the word also means
		base as compared to gold or silver.
			Ps. 8:5
			Heb 2:7,9
	ALL sacrifices to God were to be upon this Altar & received by Fire!!
	Those who touched the Altar were considered Holy...

II. Called the Altar of GOD	Ps 43:4

	Extreme joy !! ?? !!  ... the Altar?
		Look thru David's eyes... he see's the enemy and their ungodly
		oppression... then he see's Zion... And the Ever Burning Fire
		Of God !! A Fire that gives light, warmth, direction and even 	
	DEFEAT and Destruction to the enemy. 
		David's countenance changes...
		So too should our countenance change at the sight of the altar!!

III. (Altar of the Lord) 
	In Malachi 2... the prophet speaks against the priests and their 
	unwillingness to repent so a curse is promised.
	Malachi goes on to warn the people against treachery against each
	other and God.  Speaking in vs 13..."and this ye have done covering
	the ALTAR OF THE LORD with tears, with weeping, and with crying
	out... not regarding the offerings anymore..."

	Later the Prophet commands in 3:8 to..."Bring forth Fruits* meet for
	repentance."		*Fruits - something taken/plucked, not picked up
					    or found.
