Gloria Maddox was a graduate of Boston University. She performed and taught in Moscow and was a resident member of several repertory companies including: Arena Stage in Washington, D.C., Center Stage in Baltimore and Theatre of the Living Arts in Philadelphia where she originated the role of "Becky Lou" in Sam Shepard's Tooth of Crime. On Broadway she plaed "Mrs. Reed" in Devour the Snow. She appeared extensively in Off/Off-Off Braodway theatres and was a member of the Jarboro Company with whom she toured and filmed internationally. Her New York directing credits included Baseball Wives by Grubb Graebner and Recensio and American Subway by Eddie Desantis. She taught scene study at T. Schreiber Studio, improvisation and scene study at Michael Howard Studios, and group and private coaching in Stoney Creek, CT. In 1993, she taught Advanced Scene Study at Yale University.
