Prints and Drawings
The process of drawing must also be considered essential to an understanding of Creus' particular sensibility. Even more, perhaps than in her paintings, her drawings indicate how crucial she believes it is to tap her unconcious and find a balance between imagination and thought, spontaneity and deliberation. Conceived individually, the drawings, when viewed together as an installation, surround the viewer like an exposed chatter of the mind . There is a certain poetry in their iconography that is at once universal and autobiographical . Their appeal resembles the appeal of certain Latin American Poets, an appeal based on the lyrical intensity with which certain images have been wrested from experience rather than on compelling formal considerations.
