(Sheet music in button). There is a beech grove on a hill in the city arboretum where the scars of discarded branches caught my attention. This bark pattern is probably characteristic for the tree type, but seemed especially stronger or more fairy-tale-like on the morning I first noticed it. I put assorted "eyes" from other trees as a ghostly overlay to the main cover shot in the center (over the foliage). I wonder if such sights, or something similar, is underneath the many depictions in folklore and even in cartoons, showing trees "watching" the woodland visitor.

Note: Musically, the piece is mostly somber, so if you feel the major key "squirrel interlude" is too disruptive, then the score allows you to delete that part (although I did take their photos below at the same place).
