I would like to begin by introducing myself. My name is Cheryl Wildes. I started this homepage because I had a sister who had Anorexia Nervosa for over twenty years. My sister had the disease so long, that the damage was irreversible. In fact, she had been labeled terminally ill. She was told that at any time, even after catching a slight cold, she could die. She was even been revived from "death" on several occasions. She had no life to speak of many years. Anorexia was in control. She was only 38 years old, could not work fulltime was living on Social Security disability and trying to raise a daughter. She lost several jobs and finally her husband of 15 years. Since nothing I can do will change what has happened to my sister, I am writing this page to help others. It is for those of you who have the disease, and for others who, like me, have watched or are watching someone you love slowly kill themselves.

Now, allow me to introduce my sister. This
was Stacy Evrard. Well, I have to admit this is not what she looked like most
of her adult life. Actually, I have several ways of remembering her. This picture
is what she looked like at 17 when she graduated from Cape Elizabeth High
School. Immediately after graduating, my parents strongly urged her to
join the U.S. Navy. (College was not in my parents budget, so if you did
not get married, the Navy was the answer.) And, this
is
how Stacy looked upon graduating from boot camp three months later. She
was the picture of health. Back then she weighed about 130 lbs. at 5'6".
But, life change for her less than a week later.
