We
believe in God, that he created everything there is. He made people too! He made us
in His own image. He made us able to recognize Him, and actually have a relationship with him.
He
loves us and wants our love in return... but he does not force us to love him. He gave us
a free will to decide. It's our choice. If we decide to do things our way
without regard to God's way... that's called sin. Sin is having it
our way. God really hates sin...When we sin, we can't really expect God to be close to us.
It damages our relationship with him. And until that sin is dealt with, we can not have the same close walk here on Earth as when we are pure
before Him. So when we die (and we will), He especially would not
have us walking around in heaven. And don't kid yourself...we all sin everyday.
The
Bible says that in order to cover our sin, God requires someone perfect who has not sinned
, to willingly lay down his life. This is God's judgement ...He's the
boss. Since no one is without sin, we
can't pay for our own sin. Looks
like our spiritual purse is
empty when it comes to paying for those
sins.As such we would have to face God's
Final judgement without anything of true
value to cover our spiritual backsides! But...
God loves us...remember? God is also merciful...and yet his judgement still stands.
Here's the Good News..

For God so loved the world (you and me), that he gave his only Son (that's Jesus, who God sent to earth to die to pay the price for all our
sins), that whoever believes in him (who He is and what He teaches us about God's
justice and yet merciful nature), Shall
not perish (or die a spiritual death,
which is complete separation from God for all eternity) but have everlasting life.(in
heaven). John 3:16
That's right out of the Bible, the inspired word of God. It
means Jesus came down from his glorious throne in heaven and was born as a lowly man. He
ministered God's very nature to his disciples for about 3 short years to prepare them and
us for what God's plan of Salvation was. It was HIM. Then He gave up His life just as He
said He would for our Salvation. He has payed
the price for all your sins already !
(Oh, the best part...Jesus did not stay dead !...He actually rose again
after 3 days.) And there are plenty of witnesses. Read Any of the books Matthew, Mark, Luke or John. (Four completely different perspectives on this
event.) He overcame death and is Alive and even now is glorified by God as Lord of All. He
now intercedes for us to his Father. He loved us enough to die for sins
and now He is back on His throne. He loves us and wants what's best for us.
And doing His Will is what is best for us. This requires our complete Trust in Him to let Him "steer
the Plane". It's not always
easy...It's takes a day by day approach.
And if you truly
believe this and accept that...
You've sinned, and that you are separated from God because that sin.
Only Jesus has the power to pay for and thereby forgive all sin.
Accept this as a free gift of Salvation from God.
Pray to God and confess to him what you
both already know...That you are too a sinner, and you are ready to turn
these sins over to the Only One who can take them all away,
Jesus Christ. Thank Him for His merciful
gift to you, which was giving his perfect life on the cross almost 2000 years ago to pay for your and my sins. Ask him to be your Saviour too.
If you sincerely prayed this and put your total trust in His power to Save you... He has forgiven your sins already! It's a done deal. You are now officially a "born again Christian." I hope you
are pretty happy now because you are going to spend eternity in Heaven. Just
as Jesus rose...So will you.
Now don't stop here!
Also ask Him to help you let Him take some of your worries and cares and turn them over to Him. Let them go. Then he can be Lord
of your life as well. You just kind of follow along. He then can let you have peace inside like maybe you haven't felt in a long time.
You'll probably need
some Guidance on what to do next. Find a
good Christian group, church or friend.
They can help you stay on course. Get a
Bible (God's word) and read a
little...Maybe start with the book of John. It isn't long. Learn how to pray...this
is just talking to God and if you're real quiet...Listening to God (who
speaks so softly at times that only your heart may hear).
Try to establish a
daily time with God.(Read and Pray) It will make a difference.
