 Through the halls of Juuban Middle
School walks a young girl. Her bright blue eyes are distant, lost in thought. Her
slender arms are loaded down with books, but with natural grace she navigates the
crowded halls easily. Whispers spring up as she passes by. For she is Mizuno Ami,
known for excellent grades and her sky-high IQ; said to be 300! But unknown to her
classmates, this shy, studious young lady is really Sailor Mercury, Senshi of Ice
and Wisdom.
As with most of
the senshi, Ami is not really what she seems at first glance. Beneath her quiet,
almost cold exterior is a spirited young girl who secretly wishes to be normal. She
is always remebered as "that smart girl", marked by her intelligence. But
the more and more she was stereo-typed, the more she became what people expected
her to be. She began to spend every free moment studying, a hobby that she genuinely
enjoys. She became a loner, left to her own thoughts and musings by classmates who
just couldn't understand her.
But when Ami met
Usagi -and became a Sailor Senshi- things started to change. Even though her new
friends can't always relate to her, they love her very much and they try to look
out for her. For the first time, she has something to do besides mathematical equations.
As a senshi, Sailor
Mercury is the brains of the group, and for obvious reasons. Armed with her Virtual
Reality visor and her Mini Super-computer, she is a force to be reckoned with despite
her low attack power. Many times (especially during the first series), the other
senshi have had to depend completely on Mercury to get them out of a tough spot.
And she always came through.
