It's a peaceful morning as you stroll past Juuban
Middle School. The late bell just rang and all of the students are inside, getting
ready for another busy day. Suddenly, the peace is shattered as a whirlwind of blond
hair and blue fabric all but runs you over on it's way to the gates.
A girl with a, shall we say unusual, hairstyle turns around (but keeps running) and yells an apology as she races into the building. Chuckling to yourself, you remember that this is the third time this week that Usagi Tsukino has been late for classes (and nearly ran you down on her way there).
No one would ever guess that this klutzy and more-than-a-little whiny girl was actually Sailor Moon, protectress of our planet. With so many different identities and responsibilites, it's no wonder she's always late. Besides being a student, she is also Sailor Moon, Princess Serenity (or Selenity, whichever you prefer), future Queen of Crystal Tokoyo, and the guardian of one of the most powerful forces in the universe, the Silver Imperium Crystal. Thank goodness she's not alone!
As Sailor Moon (and a student) her most powerful weapons are her love, innocence, and compassion. Her trusting and caring nature, although it has gotten her into alot of bad situations, has also saved her (and others) countless times. Unlike most super-heroes, she often heals or saves her enemies, instead of killing them. Always faihful and loyal to those that she loves, she would never abandon a friend in need.
One cannot talk about Usagi without mentioning her faithful lover and ally, Tuxedo Mask, a.k.a. Mamoru Chiba. From the very begining, these two were destined for each other and although their love has been tested many times, it has never failed. Each would readily give their life for the other's sake and they have had to do so a few times. But one day, in the Crystal Millenium, they will be rewarded for all their hardships.
True, Usagi is not your average heroine. In the begining, she hated fighting and resented her position. But watching her develop and grow throughout the story is one of the more interesting parts of the series. You have to remember that during the Silver Millenium, she wasn't a senshi, she was the Princess of the Moon. So it wasn't until the reincarnation that she had to learn to fight, whereas the other senshi (who had been warriors before their second life) were a little more experienced.
