1880 Federal Census for Davie CountyThe 1880 Federal Census for Davie County, transcribed and compiled by Nancy K. Murphy and Everette G. Sain, is a soft-covered, bound book containing most all of the information given on the original microfilm. It has taken more than one year to transcribe, proof-read, and research the material. As in previous books, there is an 'every name' index to aid the researcher.
Davie County (NC) Cemeteries, Volumes I and II. Over 150 family, church and community cemeteries have been surveyed, and approximately 18,000 names are recorded. Names are listed alphabetically by surname in each cemetery, with any available data such as family relationships, grave marker inscriptions, and dates. Directions to each cemetery are also included, and each volume is fully indexed.
Davie County Marriages 1836 - 1900 is a compilation of information obtained from the Davie County Register of Deeds office. The soft-cover, bound book contains 274 pages listing names of Bride and Groom, Age, Race, Marriage date, Minister or JP's name, and bondman or witnesses' names. In a few cases, parents' names and other facts are noted. Entries are in alphabetical order and a "Bride's Index" is included. This book has been compiled by Nancy K. Murphy, a long-time volunteer in the History Room of the Davie County Public Library, as well as other individuals,.
THE HUGHES HISTORICAL MAP - Researched, documented, and published by the late Fred Hughes of High Point, NC. This Davie County map features original and secondary landowners; pinpoints many landmarks from the 1700's; gives location of churches; shows Indian trails and sites; gives the route of the Great Wagon Road; and shows Cornwallis' travels.
THE LAGLE MAP - A land grant map of Davie County detailing the location and the name of the individual who received the original grant; most of the grants listed are the state grants in the post-Revolutionary period. This map was compiled by Andrew Lagle and researched by the late Miss Pink Tatum.
