Many players are plaqued with sticking keys, particularly the first octave. If the problem is due to dirt on the pad, there is a very simple and fast solution!! Open the offending key and slip a piece of cloth underneath and put some lighter fluid, alcohol or other cleaning solvent onto the cloth near the key. Holding the key gently closed, pull the cloth (with the solvent) under the key. You'll probably see the "gunk" on the cloth and that's a better place for it than the pad!!
