This page is open-ended, and may contain items that seem strange to some visitors. There is nothing here that is for sale. Whatever you may find at this site has been done with good intentions and has been placed here free for the enjoyment of any visitor that may travel this way. If you have a little chuckle during your visit, that is good. If you learn something, that is also good. If anyone is offended by anything found here, I apologize, as no offense was intended. It's all in fun, with a little bit of serious commentary now and then, and maybe an occasional tribute to someone special.
Some of the things may seem unusual to people who have not experienced life in a coal camp located deep in the mountains of Southeastern Kentucky. It's been said that "one's past determines one's future". Oh well, at least, I think its been said, if not I just said it. Anyway, the sole purpose of this thing is to bring the visitor closer to the hills of Southern Kentucky and offer a glimpse of the problems and joys the mountain folks faced "then and now". This mountain boy has been gone from the hills for 40+ years, but I look back often to the much different way of life that "was". Some of the ramblings on these pages reflect that past life and some others just plain reflect on things that I got a glimpse of as they ran across the porch.
