This section of the site will describe those currently associated with the Ventrue in Atlanta, some of those who have been here in the past, and the structure of the Clan in Atlanta.
There are several different degrees of involvement with the Ventrue Clan.
Members are those of the blood of the Clan of Kings. They have all the benefits and rarified tastes of our lineage, and can hold offices within the Clan. Each may pursue a personal agenda, but is represented by the Clan's representative in City-wide matters. They follow the lead of the Primogen in most matters affecting the Clan, and ignore the Clan's requirements at their peril. They are expected to act in a manner consistent with the rules of the City, and any glory or disgrace they incur reflects upon the Clan.
Associates are Kindred for whom the Clan speaks, as they do not have a bloodline of their own to represent them, nor to take responsibility for them. They must show loyalty to the Clan, and should they break from the Clan's protection, they would likely be vulnerable to others' aggressions.
Retainers are those with whom the Ventrue have the bonds of blood, mortal yet more than mortal. They carry out the needs of their masters and are valued as powerful resources for those who can employ them. In the end, each is a personal chattel, but still the Clan as a whole looks out for their interests and respects them.
Employees are Kindred with whom the Ventrue have a continuing contractual relationship for certain services. Loyalty within the realm of those services is expected, and regular pay will be delivered, but ties beyond that are not required.
