The following are good places "to start".  Try using the hyper-links on the "home page" of the library web-site for "almanacs", "encyclopedias", "Palm Springs Public Library" (databases) etc.
If you are using a "google search", make it a power search by using the following techniques:

The Supreme Court of the United States:  Contains information on the Supreme Court including biographies of the justices, the role of the court, and information on current court ases.  Not a source of historical court cases, but could be useful for background information on the judieciary.

From this link you can access historical court cases by topic.  You can click on the word 'search' to access links to court cases in alphabetical order or using key words.
