The USGenWeb Project
Representative at Large Campaign 2009

The world is filled with folly and sin,
And Love must cling where it can, I say:
For Beauty is easy enough to win,
But one is not loved every day.

Not my most recent photo, but not much has changed over the years ... my hair is a little longer and a little thinner, and I no longer wear glasses. I am not married.

And here I am taking my stand for the Rights of Members in front of the corrupt USGenWeb political leadership clique. I'm just kidding ... I don't wear white shirts.

I'm going to skip the fluff, and get right to the issues. To often, and for to long, we have had a Representative at Large who seems to think that the job is to represent the Advisory Board. As your RAL I will represent you, The People. I will respect you and your rights. I will not regard you as The Great Unwashed.

Jeff Murphy (rest his soul) and Bill Couch, respectively and respectfully the USGenWeb founder and co-founder, were friends of mine while the USGenWeb was being created in 1996. Bill and myself hung around on the USGenWeb-ALL list, "watching the show" as Bill put it. In 2002 several events happened as a result of leadership in the USGenWeb abusing their authority, and ignoring the Rights of Members, which resulting in me taking my stance of fairness, equality and justice in the USGenWeb, when I posted this on the ALL list:

"Whether *I* am here or not...there will *always* be others here to stick up for what's right and justice...because this is America, and there are Lots of proud Americans who are not afraid to stand up and voice their opinions against bad leadership, instead of following like blind sheep."

I am the only candidate for RAL who has a proven track record ever since joining the Project, of believing that the Coordinators are the most important parts of the USGenWeb; insisting that all members be treated equally and fairly with justice, and that all members must live by the rules of their state and of the Project. Candidate Tina Vickery has a proven stance of personal grudges and ego being more important to her than the USGenWeb Bylaws and Rights of Members.

In the 2008 elections those who know 'Tina the politician' the best, members of the Advisory Board, the majority voted to replace Tina.

Some people will try anything to win -- By refusing to uphold and enforce USGenWeb rules, Vickery has seen to it that I am unsubscribed from the USGenWeb-Discuss list, so I will not be able to exercise my Rights of Members "To speak on debatable questions," nor question her competency to be RAL (see Suit). The Advisory Board has done nothing to over-ride the decision of having me unsubscribed. Has this election for Representative at Large been rigged?

Those of you who know me, know that I represent no USGenWeb political clique. And as your RAL, I would cater to no political clique. I would like to think of myself as "The People's Candidate" and hope that you also see me in that light.

The United States, with the Declaration of Independence, was founded upon the principle of citizens having rights. And the foundation of Sturgis, used to govern the USGenWeb with, is "Parliamentary Law Safeguards Rights." The United States goes to great lengths to protect and uphold the rights of citizens. The corrupt USGenWeb leadership goes to great lengths to uphold their own egos and personal grudges and agendas.

The issue of CCs being abused by leadership violating the rules of states and the USGenWeb Bylaws, and the Rights of Members, is a long standing problem. I have the opportunity to establish fairness and justice within the USGenWeb, by filing a suite to uphold and enforce the Rights of Members; because the Grievance Committee, the Advisory Board and the National Coordinator, have refused to do so. When the Suit link is activated, you will be able to read about some of the Rights of Members, and the suit itself: Suit

About the Other Races

National Coordinator -- In secret AB meetings Sherri Bradley has voted twice in recent months to let the USGenWeb Grievance Committee break the Grievance Bylaw and Procedures voted into place by the membership (see Suit). Don Kelly knows how important the USGenWeb Bylaws and Rights of Member are;, he would do his best to uphold and enforce them. Don is The People's Candidate in this race.

SEMA County Coordinator Representative -- Jeff Kemp is a State Coordinator, running for County Coordinator Rep. Although permissable by the bylaws, I do not think it fair. Would you want the entire AB to be composed of State Coordinators? County Coordinator Laverne Tornow believes in fairness, the Rights of Members, and that even State Coordinators must comply with the rules; State Coordinators are not above the rules. Laverne would represent you, not her ego.

SWSC County Coordinator Representative 2 -- I don't know what other stories W David Samuelsen tells, but he has lied about me on the SW Regional and Discuss lists, and the Archives list where I was not subscribed and could not defend myself. Charles Barnum, with 20 years of experience as a mediator / hearing officer for a major corporation and never having a mediation result overturned, is a proven fair person. Charles has a strong belief in the Rights of Members.
