Outdoor Emergency Care Enhancement

PLAN
OEC Enhancement is a course designed to bring your emergency care and leadership skills to a higher level. Two modules are required for Senior certification. We will be doing three modules in a day: Bone & joint injuries for both upper and lower extremities; and spinal management. We'll give you outlines for reviewing the concepts and techniques in advance, so that we can use all our class time for hands-on practice and evaluation. For each topic, we'll have skills clinics in which OEC instructors and Seniors will coach you to bring your performance up to Senior level and beyond. We will also have realistic, role-playing scenarios with patients in full moulage to help you put your skills together and develop your leadership abilities.

TIME
Saturday December 10, 8:30 to 5

PLACE: Piedmont School
In Piedmont, get on Oakland Avenue going East. From 580, it's the Oakland Ave./Harrison St. exit. Go up and down hills, accross Grand Ave. (traffic lights), then uphill again to the traffic light hanging over the center of the street (Hillside Avenue). Turn right on Hillside, and the first cluster of large buildings on your right is Piedmont School. There is street parking further up. When you come back, you'll see a low stone wall broken by a short flight of steps that take you down to the plaza below Hillside Avenue. The gym where we have our class faces that plaza.
