(MOA's)
MOA's are agreements entered into
between the company and the Union. The agreements are part of the contract and
are binding even though you might not see all of them in the contract. Some are
negotiated with the full bargaining committee's involvement. Some are
agreements made between Human resources officials and a designated
representative of the CWA District Vice-President.
Most (key word most)
MOA's are the result of minor changes in laws, changing circumstances in our
industry and/or unforeseen developments that occur in between formal
negotiations that take place every three years.
This section is being
created so rank and file members will have access to these 'MOA's'. It is hoped
that by having easy access to information it will create a better awareness of
what our union does. With increased knowledge of what our union does, for us and sometimes to us, it should create more
involvement by rank and file members. This section will be in a state of
continual development. New MOA's will be added and others deleted when they are
replaced or are no longer relevant. You will also be able to see the
monthly grievance summary on this
site.
Please come back from time to time to check out the progress,
offer suggestions, take a shot at me, state your case on the 'forum message
board' or print one out and distribute it to your work
group.
