Search Engines--If you cannot find it at these sites it is not on the Web!

  • HotBot Are all computers the same?  Are all cars the same?  The answer is yes and no.  Not all search engines are the same.  I find that HotBot is the best organized and fastest.  Give it a try.

    AccuFind So you do not believe me that HotBot is best search engine.  Well, you can have them all at once. AccuFind allows you to enter the words that you are looking for and then search on all of the popular engines: InfoSeek, Excite, Yahoo, . . .  Just click the pull-down box to select the search engine you want to use. 
     

Travel Sites--What is better than hitting the road?
Microsoft Expedia Home Want a good fare or hotel rate?  Check out this excellent Microsoft site.  Sign up for the automatic email when good fares present themselves. 

Travelocity air car hotel online reservations If you do not find what you want at Expedia you can find it here.  You can also sign up for automatic email notifications.

Southwest Airlines Fares RequestUS Airways, Delta Airlines These are the links to Southwest, US Airways, and Delta.  They cover a good portion of the world.  If you want all of the remaining airlines in North America try Air Lines of North America.

PARKNET:The National Park Service Place on the Web If you are going to a National Park check out this excellent site.

What to Find People, Phone Numbers, Addresses,  . . .--You cannot hide anymore
 

Four11 Directory Services Search for email addresses or phone numbers at this Yahoo connected site.  It gives listed telephone numbers.  You will not find mine because I am unlisted. 

Welcome to Bigfoot Well if you did not find it at Four11 then you can try BigFoot.  It is also an excellent site. 

Reverse Lookup - InfoSpace This is a good one if you know a number or email address and not a name. 

1-800-U.S. SEARCH If you really need to find someone, just pay them their price ($79.95) and they will find that person from their name and date of birth or age.

Send an Email Postcard--Keep in touch with your friends and enemies

Blue Mountain Arts' Electronic Greeting Cards Probably the best email postcard site on the web.  You have lots of good stuff to select from, including animated cards. 

The Digital Postcard Welcome Page If you could not find it on Blue Mountain check out this site. 

MessageMates Animated Ecards for all Occasions. If you really need to send something that is different.  They have aliens and other strange ways of delivering your message.  A good site.

Tampa Bay Sites--Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Clearwater in a Nutshell

St. Petersburg Times Online Tells you about everything you ever wanted to know about Tampa Bay: Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Clearwater. 

Tampa Bay Online Home Page This is very similar to the St. Pete page but brought to you by the more inferior paper, the Tampa Tribune.  Nonetheless this is an excellent site to find out everything about the Tampa Bay area.

Recipes, Cooking, and Food... CompuCook  If you are into food and cooking, this is the site for you.  They even have a recipe for the day. 

GourmetSpot Besides  billions and billions of good recipes, it has lots of good sites about drinks, foods, cooking equipment, and lots of links to other food sites.

File Mine -- Dig Our Downloads of Shareware, Games and Commercial Demos This is CMP Net shareware database.  Tons, metric tonnes that is, of shareware programs.
JUMBO! - SHAREWARE! GAMES! FREEWARE! Another huge site of good downloads. 

Shareware.com This is the C|Net shareware site.  It probably has all the shareware that exists in this world!

Music Boulevard Another great place to buy the CDs you cannot find at your local store. 

CDNow  This is probably the most popular music site on the Web.  Check it out.

Maps and Satellite Photos--Where are you?

 Yahoo! MapBlast If you cannot find the place you are looking for on MapBlast, you probably will not find it.  Just type in the address or name of city.  It is easy.
MapQuest! Interactive Atlas  Another excellent map site.  You can find places all over the world.  If you register, you can personalize your maps. 

Welcome to TerraServer Go to this site if you would like to see a satellite photo of your house or whatever.  This is a Microsoft site that purportedly has the largest database on the Web.  It is fun.

Movies--Check out a movie before you see it

Yahoo! Movies At this site you can find out what is coming out next week, see video clips, check the starting times at your local theater, and much more.  If you are a movie buff, bookmark this site.
Hollywood Online: ...all about movies... Just about everything you would ever want to know about movies.  It is a comprehensive site with latest releases, reviews, trailers, . . .
Film.com Another great file site.  It has lots of film clips, but you will Read Audio/Video (free download). The best part of this site is the Screening Room with the film clips for many movies. This site also has a store to buy videos or an X-Files mouse pad.

Astronomy--Do you have your head in the stars and feet on the ground?

SETI@Home SETI@home is a scientific experiment that harnesses the power of hundreds of thousands of Internet-connected computers in the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI). You can participate by running a free program that downloads and analyzes radio telescope data. There's a small but captivating possibility that your computer will detect the faint murmur of a civilization beyond Earth. 

Astronomy Picture of the Day This NASA site presents a new astronomical picture each day with a simple explanation by a professional astronomer.  You will find lots of good stuff about astronomy and some of the most beautiful shots in the universe. You can see all of the previous Pictures on the Day in the Archive

HST Imagesby Subject This page presents an subject index of the photographs that have been released that were taken by the Hubble space telescope.  It is a great source of pictures of our solar system and universe.  This page is just part of the Hubble Space Telescope home page. 

Astronomy Cafe  If the pictures from the last two sites have whetted your apetite to learn more about astronomy, check out the Astronomy Cafe.  It has links to lots of good astronomy sites.  It also answers the question: "Do black holes really suck?" and what people REALLY ask an astronomer at the Astronomy Cafe. 

Clestial Sphere--A Virtual Planetarium Yes, a real planetarium where you can see the sky from any point on the earth.  It has lots of links to astronomy information about the stars that you see.  Th is a cool site.

100hot.com - The Web's Most Popular Sites! This says it all.  This site ranks the best Internet sites.  It also have lots of top 100 sites; e.g., the top business, entertainment, shopping, lifestyle, music,news, and sports sites. 

Car Talk This is the Web Site for the National Public Radio Car Talk show.  You can listen to this week's show if you miss it.  It has lots of good and humorous stuff about cars.  This is a fun site. 

ESPN SportsZone  If you are into sports this is the place to be.  You can get real-time scores during games, lots of good articles, statistics, and a lot more. 

Cool Site of the Day  If you are looking for different things on the Web this is the site for you.  Each day they have a Cool Site which is a different, interesting site.  They also have many Cool Zones which include: Cool Books, Cool Cars, Cool Music, Cool Stuff, and Cool Travel

BonusMail Rewards This site sends you email regarding bargins that con be found on the Internet.  Each time you read one of their ads you accumulate points which can be used to buy things.  It is a good deal, if you do not mind receiving  periodic emails. BonusMail, Email That Rewards You!
