Who is this handsome mysterious stranger

Who claims to be Remington Steele?

What was his life like, this nameless intruder,

Before he was Remington Steele?

I know that he's an impostor, a dashing deceiver,

A con man--not Remington Steele.

Remington Steele's just a name on an office--

The great Mr. Steele is not real!

Though 'twas a most elaborate ruse,

This charmer quickly broke the rules--

He dared to fill my dream man's shoes!

How many parts has be played in his lifetime

Before he was Remington Steele?

How many hearts has he broken besides mine,

This man who's now Remington Steele?

I don't even know his name,

But for now I'm content to play his game.
