Reissues

A few years ago, select pieces of Town and Country were reissued (by World of Ceramics, Morganton, NC) with Eva Zeisel's permission. The salt & peppers and the cruets were reissued in 1996 in new colors, and in 1997 the mixing bowl and syrup pitcher were reissued in Rust. All reissue pieces are stamped EZ96 or EZ97 on the bottom in order to distinguish them from the originals made by Red Wing. Other Eva Zeisel pieces were also reissued in addition to Town and Country... and were available for sale for a time at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) Design Store in New York City. World of Ceramics can be contacted directly by emailing Lynn Simmons at woclynn@hci.net.

More recently, an additional number of Town and Country items were reissued by a different manufacturer, and made for sale at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. These are currently available for ordering at the Met Store web page... go to http://www.metmuseum.org/store/index.asp and do a search for "Zeisel". These items include the teapot, 3-quart pitcher, creamer and sugar, cups and saucers, and plates and bowls. I believe these items are stamped with only "EZ" on the bottom.

Also, a large variety of both new and reissued Eva Zeisel items is available for sale at Eva Zeisel Designs, at http://www.evazeiseldesigns.com/collection.html. These include Town and Country items as well as other designs.

Again, note that these various reissued items all have an "EZ" stamp of one form or another on the bottom, while the original Red Wing pieces from the 40's/50's do not have any markings whatsoever.
