Jack Burgess' HO-Standard "Yosemite Valley Railroad"
This layout is - what other word can I use - superb!! Jack is well known throughout the model railroad community, and has earned the NMRA's title of Master Model Railroader. His layout reflects his meticulous approach to model railroading. It's as close to an exact duplicate of the prototype as any compressed layout could be, and is second to none.
Jack is a rivet counter's river counter, and it reflects in his exceptional work. According to Jack, everything is prototypically correct for August 1939, with the exception of compressed distances between towns. All buildings are modeled as they existed. All stations and physical features are in their correct relationship to each other. All yard trackage is based upon the prototype. More of Jack's layout can be seen, and more information regarding his approach to modeling obtained, on his own web site, http://www.yosemitevalleyrr.com. I have to say that I was totally impressed!

The exhaust piping in this
photo is still under construction.

Jack has written articles
about how he makes his weeds.

I'm particularly impressed with the rock work, as shown in this
photo and the one below.

In addition to the main
layout in the garage, Jack's wife has a small large-scale loop of
track outside. Jack built the trestle.
That's all folks.
