We're not trying to provide a comprehensive listing of Websites relating to dogs and adoptions here; much of that is available at other locations, several of which are listed below. • Atlanta Rescues - Metro area rescues: dogs, cats, horses, pot-bellied pigs, and more.  List edited by Susan Feingold, so you know it's good.
  
• Breed Rescues and Shelters - A national listing of many of the available Rescue Organizations
  
• Canine Assistants - One of the premier service organizations anywhere, this group rescues very special dogs and trains them to be the hands, feet, and much, much more to disabled people.  Visit their site and see if you can be unmoved by what they do.
  
• Florida Dog Adoption Center - Lists links all over the state of Florida and the nation, as well as a list of adoptable dogs of their own.  An impressive site.
  
• Cobb County Humane Society - Cobb County’s excellent Humane Society Website, with pictures and descriptions of available dogs and  more.
  
• Collie Rescue of Metro Atlanta, Inc. - Atlanta area Lassie lovers, this is the place for you!
  
• CYBERPETS - You say you like a slick, fun-to-visit Web site? Here you are - and there’s a lot of information available here, too, on a variety of dog and cat-related subjects.
  
• Dog Gone Locate - a New York -based lost dog service with a page for lost and found pets, and their owners.
  
• Fulton County Humane Society - Here's where you'll find most of the effort to save animals in Fulton County and the City of Atlanta.

• Georgia Humane Societies and Rescues - Local and Georgia statewide groups with Web links and/or e-mail addresses where available.
  
• How to Choose Your New Dog - Amy Hendrix's excellent listing of the considerations you should make in selecting thet new dog. This comprehensive article is strongly recommended for all first-time dog owners. For that matter, any prospective new owner would benefit from reading it. We can't recommend it too highly.
  
• Pet Orphans Rescue and Adoption - A new (February '99) adoption service with a website complete with pictures, a voice information hotline at (770) 443-3530 and a lot of dogs deserving of your attention.  Fees vary with the dog, depending on a number of factors such as veterinary charges and maintenance costs.
  
• NETVET - The Home Page of the American Veterinary Medical Association. Lots of info for owners of all species of pets.
  
• Pets Are Loving Support (PALS) - Pets Are Loving Support is a non-profit agency organized in Sonoma, California to improve the quality of life of people with AIDS . There's a similar organization in Metro Atlanta, but so far we don't have a URL for them.

• Family Internet Pages - A guide to a host of family- and children-oriented sites. Check this one out if you're looking for a place to find tips, games, on-line products and a myriad other thngs of interest to your family.
  
• Free Bytes NP, Inc. - Free Bytes is a nonprofit corporation, run by students, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, whose mission is to provide nonprofit organizations with computer equipment at minimal or no cost.
  
• Georgia Environmental Organization - Click here to see what a locally based "environmental sustainability" group is doing. They could use your help, if you’re so inclined.
  
• Good Mews - the well respected no-kill shelter for cats in Marietta.
  
• Kitty Village - A placement service for cats and kittens. There are also links to many other sites, local and national, for rescue services for the feline persuasion. Check it out even if you don't want a cat right now.
