Morning Star Animal Shelter is a private, volunteer rescue group which works closely with the Harris County Animal Shelter, located in Hamilton, GA, about ten miles down the road from world-famous Callaway Gardens.

Adoptions, as of March 21, 1999, are free, and they provide discount vouchers to help defray the costs of spaying and neutering adopted animals, as Georgia law requires, at Pine Mountain veterinary clinics: $35.00 off for dogs and $25.00 off for cats. Shelter hours are 8:00 -11:00 AM Monday through Friday, and the group tries to conduct as many adoptions as possible at remote locations on nice weekends.

"HB" Housebroken (or mostly so) - this is often difficult to determine in a Shelter, so many dogs which are not listed as housebroken may actually be trained

"Age": Usually estimated by Shelter or foster home unless the dog is turned in by an owner.
