About the Curly HorseThe American Curly Horse is a unique and versatile breed with a mysterious past. No one knows where they originated, but they have been known to exist in the western United States for nearly 200 years, and they have been bred and used as ranch horses for at least 60 years. As of 1992, there were over 2,000 Curly horses registered in the American Bashkir Curly (ABC) Registry, P.O. Box 246, Ely, NV 89301 USA. The Registry was founded in 1971 to preserve the rare Curly breed, which was then in danger of dying out. |
