Funeral Set Today for M. E. Crawford

Funeral for Matthew E. Crawford, 73, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Elliott's Chapel of Memories with the Rev. William Estes, pastor of the assembly of God church, officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Crawford, a resident of Abilene since 1930, died at the home of a son, I. C. Crawford, 810 Chestnut St. at 1:55 p.m. Wednesday. He had been in ill health since last November.

He was a retired farmer.

Survivors are his widow; four daughters, Mrs. W. E. Porter, Mrs. E. B. Radney, Mrs. E. L. Vest, all of Abilene, and Mrs. Fred Adams of California; two sons, I. C. Crawford of Abilene and Jim N. Crawford of Galena Park, a step-son, O. A. Finch of Mexia; a sister, Mrs. Martha Criswell of Aspermont; two brothers, A. A. Crawford of New Mexico and Jim Crawford of Waco; 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was married to Mary Willey in 1901. Mary Willey was born in 1879 in Arkansas. She died after 1950. Matthew Elley Crawford and Mary Willey had the following children:
