3. Mary "Polly" Ann Beard was born in 1826 in Tennessee. She appeared on the census on 5 Oct 1870 in P. O. Gatesville, Coryell County, Texas. ⁽¹⁸⁾ She sold 49.33 acres on the Leon River for $250 on 30 Apr 1878 in Coryell County, Texas.⁽¹⁹⁾ She died after 1890 in California.⁽²⁰⁾


Mary Ann first married John Ferrill, who died between 1850 and 1855. She married second, William Taylor. Her oldest son Alexander moved to California, but John stayed in Texas, later marrying the widow of his cousin, J. T. Lee.

She was married to John Ferrell in 1844. John Ferrell was born in 1820 in North Carolina. He appeared on the census on 4 Nov 1850 in Bird Township, Jackson County, Arkansas.⁽²¹⁾ He died 1850 to 1855. Mary "Polly" Ann Beard and John Ferrell had the following children:

+14 i. Alexander Richeson Ferrell.
+15 ii. John T. Ferrell.
16 iii. Willis Ferrell was born in 1849 in Arkansas. He died 1850 to 1860.

She was married to William Taylor on 25 Nov 1855 in Coryell County, Texas. William Taylor was born in 1802 in Kentucky. He bought 49.33 acres on the Leon River for $148 on 15 Oct 1859 in Coryell County, Texas. ⁽²²⁾ He appeared on the census on 14 Jul 1860 in P. O. Station Creek, Coryell County, Texas.⁽²³⁾ He died past 1860.

William Taylor purchased land in Coryell County recorded on October 15, 1859, Volume D, p. 50. This land, 49 1/3 acres on the Leon River. His heirs sold this land on April 30, 1878 (recorded May 26, 1879, Volume L, p. 583) for $250. The family may have moved to California after selling this land in Coryell County. Mary "Polly" Ann Beard and William Taylor had the following children:
