Margaret) on 16 Dec 1855 in Coryell County, Texas.
James Timothy Lee was born in 1832 in Mississippi. He on was on the County
tax roll in 1855 in Coryell County, Texas. He bought through Patent 160 acres
on the waters of Coryell Creek 11 miles N. 77 E of Gatesville on 17 Aug 1859
in Coryell County, Texas.(36) He appeared
on the census on 27 Jun 1860 in Raney's Creek, Beat No. 3, Coryell County, Texas.
(37) He died on 4 Jul 1862 in Little Rock,
Pulaski County, Arkansas. He was buried in Little Rock National Cemetery, Little
Rock, Arkansas.
Timothy Lee received a patent on land in Coryell County recorded on July 6, 1860
in Coryell County Volume D, page 173. This land was sold by his heirs between
1879 and 1883.
Timothy Lee enlisted at October 18, 1861, at Houston in Captain Brice Hargrave's
Company H, Nelson's Regiment, 10th Texas Infantry. He died on July 4, 1862,
from Typhoid Fever in the hospital at Little Rock. Lee's effects were given
to his Brother-in-law, Robert Scott, after his death.

Crawford was born on 20 Mar 1817 in Bledsoe County, Tennessee. He appeared
on the census in 1840 in Bledsoe County, Tennessee.

William Crawford served under the Texas State Militia, Captain W. R. Wood, Company
for Precinct #2, 2nd Frontier District, San Saba County, Major G.B. Erath, commanding.
He was 47 years old at enlistment on February 6, 1864.
William Crawford received a patent on 160 acres recorded on March 27, 1879, (Volume
L, p. 549, Coryell County). This was on the waters of Coryell Creek, 8.5 miles
northeast of Gatesville. He deeded 1.5 acres of this tract to his children in
on November 30, 1899 (recorded February 25, 1900, Coryell County, Volume 26,
p. 249).
According to the Handbook of Texas:
"CRAWFORD, TEXAS. Crawford is at the intersection of State Highway 317 and
Farm Road 185, eighteen miles west of Waco in western McLennan County. Settlement
of the area began in the 1850s and centered around Tonk Crossing (also called
Crawford Crossing), a ford of the Middle Bosque River two miles east of the present
town. The community was probably named for Nelson Crawford, who graded the river
crossing."
