7. Rebecca Jane Beard was born in 1836 in Alabama. She died before 1864 in Texas.

She was married to Robert S. Scott (son of Thomas Jefferson Scott and Margaret Ray) on 16 Jul 1855 in Coryell County, Texas. Robert S. Scott was born in Mar 1834 in Alabama. He appeared on the census on 12 Jul 1860 in P. O. Station Creek, Coryell County, Texas. ⁽⁴³⁾ He appeared on the census on 24 Sep 1870 in P. O. Detroit, Sanford County, Alabama.⁽⁴⁴⁾ He appeared on the census on 8 Jun 1880 in Pine Spring, Lamar County, Alabama. ⁽⁴⁵⁾ He appeared on the census on 2 Jun 1900 in Pickle, Monroe County, Mississippi.⁽⁴⁶⁾ He died on 31 Aug 1913 in Monroe County, Mississippi. He was buried in Pickle Cemetery, Monroe County, Mississippi.

Robert Scott enlisted at October 18, 1861, at Houston in Captain Brice Hargrave's Company H, Nelson's Regiment, 10th Texas Infantry. He was captured at Fort Hindeman, Arkansas Post, Arkansas, January 11, 1863. Was a prisoner at Camp Douglas, Illinois, February 8, 1863, and was paroled there on April 1, 1863, and delivered at City Point, Virginia, 1863. He was in the General Hospital, Petersburg, Virginia, from May 1 to May 20, 1863, and later in the Hospital at Dalton, Georgia. He was finally paroled on May 23, 1865, at Post of Columbus, Mississippi.

After Rebecca Jane Beard died, Robert Scott married two more times and had 12 more children by his next two wives.
