RETIRED BANKER DIES AT AGE 65
Joe L. Hunter, 65, who retired in August as a vice president of the North Fort
Worth State Bank, died yesterday morning in a Fort Worth hospital.
A native of Snyder, Hunter moved to Fort Worth in 1918. He had been employed
at the bank for 30 years.
He was a member of the Ply Methodist Church for 30 years, a past master of the
Poly Masonic Lodge No. 942 and a Shriner.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy of the home, 3223 Mt. Vernon; a daughter,
Mrs. Tom Conlee of Champagne, Ill.; two brothers, Clarence Hunter and Earl Hunter,
both of Fort Worth; three sisters, Mrs. T. E. Box of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. S.
A. Austin and Mrs. E. B. Abington, both of Fort Worth, and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow at the Poly Methodist Church.
Honorary pallbearers will be officers and directors of the North Fort Worth
State bank and members of the Couples Class of the Poly Methodist Church. Graveside
services will be held at 4:30 p.m. in Waurika, Okla.
He was married to Dorothy Lela Murphy (daughter of Roy
Crawford Murphy and Allie Beatrice Gaines) on 11 May 1929
in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas. Joseph Leslie Hunter
and Dorothy Lela Murphy had the following children:
