He appeared on the census in 1830 in Jefferson County, Alabama.⁽³¹⁵⁾ He appeared on the census in 1840 in Walker County, Alabama. ⁽³¹⁶⁾ He appeared on the census in 1840 in Jefferson County, Alabama. ⁽³¹⁷⁾ He appeared on the census on 10 Dec 1850 in Carrolsville, Jefferson County, Alabama. ⁽³¹⁸⁾ He died on 8 Feb 1856 in Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama. He had an estate probated in 1859 in Shelby County, Alabama. He was buried in Elyton Cemetery, Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama.

He was married to Nancy Dupuy (daughter of James Dupuy Sr. and Prudence Wills) about 1812. Nancy Dupuy died before 1817.

Nancy Dupuy married her first cousin, John Malone Dupuy, her first cousin once removed, son of Stephen and Nancy Dupuy, and grandson of Peter Dupuy and Elizabeth Malone. She evidently died young, and no children are attributed to her. John Malone Dupuy later married Elizabeth Hall and settled in Jefferson County, Alabama,

He was married to Elizabeth Christine Hall (daughter of Stephen Hall and Nancy DeJarnette) in 1817. Elizabeth Christine Hall was born in 1798. She died on 18 Nov 1847 in Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama. She was buried in Elyton Cemetery, Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama. Col. John Malone Dupuy and Elizabeth Christine Hall had the following children:
