WEDDING DATE TOLD THIS WEEK; CEREMONY TO BE IN ALPINE CHURCH
Announcement was made this week of the approaching marriage of Miss Arliene Hunter,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Hunter of Alpine, to Mr. Cummins Harris, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Harris.
The wedding ceremony will be held at the Alpine Christian Church June 9, with
the Rev. E. Buford Isaacs officiating.
Miss Hunter was graduated from the local high school and attended Mary Hardin-Baylor
College at Belton the, first semester of this year.
Mr. Harris graduated from the local high school and attended an advanced school
at San Bernardino, Calif., graduating with a class of three hundred. For two
years he was employed at Ellis Grocery and was then associated with his grandfather,
the late S. S. Harris in the Harris Lumber Co., retaining his position there
when V. F. Wallace bought the business.
The couple will reside here.

CHRISTIAN PASTOR READ CEREMONY; HONEYMOON TRIP TO EL PASO
The home of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Hunter in Alpine was the scene of the wedding
ceremony of their daughter, Miss Arliene Hunter and Cummins Harris, Sunday morning.
The double ring ceremony was read at nine o'clock by the Rev. Mr. Isaacs, pastor
of the Christian Church. The groom's ring was made from Mrs. S. S. Harris' wedding
ring, who is his maternal grandmother. The bride is the fourth Mrs. Harris to
wear an antique gold brooch which belonged originally to the groom's great grandmother.
The bride chose a fashionable costume of dusty rose accented with white accessories
for her wedding. She is a graduate of the local school and studied at Mary Hardin-Baylor
College at Belton the first semester of this year, moving with her parents in
the early spring to Alpine.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Harris, and is employed at Wallace
Lumber Company. After completing his work in the local school, he attended an
advanced school at San Bernadino, California.
Present for the wedding were immediate members of the bride and groom's families.
Mrs. Hunter served cake and coffee, with the bride cutting the wedding cake before
their departure for El Paso.
Mr. and Mrs. Harris will return Thursday and will be at home in Mrs. S. S. Harris'
duplex apartment north of the elementary school campus.

Graveside services for Arliene Hunter Reeves of Midland are to be 1 p.m. Friday
at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery, Eternal Light Mausoleum. Arrangements are
under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
Ms. Reeves died Wednesday at local hospital.
She was born Oct. 23, 1921, in Midland. She graduated from high school in Fort
Stockton in 1939.
She lived in San Antonio before moving to Midland in 1975.
She worked for the Texas Department of Health in Midland for 10 years and retired
in 1988. She also worked in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery's sales department.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. Reeves; and two brothers,
John Leslie Hunter in 1975 and Eugene Parker Hunter in 1993.
Survivors include a daughter, Leslie Harris Brown of Floresville; a grandson;
a great-granddaughter; two nieces and two nephews.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
