Eugene Hunter

Graveside services for Eugene "Gene" Hunter are set for 2 p.m. today at Resthaven Memorial Park with the Rev. Bob Porterfield of West Kentucky Street Baptist Church officiating. Ellis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Hunter died Saturday at a local hospital.

Graveside services for Eugene Hunter will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Resthaven Memorial Park with the Rev. Bob Porterfield, of West Kentucky Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.

Hunter died Saturday at a local hospital.

He was born May 13, 1925, in Marathon and attended school in Presidio, Fort Stockton and Alpine. He married Gladys Rose Huelster in 1945. He worked as a bookkeeper for several firms in Midland and as a sales counselor for Resthaven Memorial Park Inc. until his retirement in 1991.

He was preceded in death by a brother, John L. Hunter.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Rose Hunter of Midland; a son, Kent Hunter of Plano; a stepson, Kirk Zumwalt of LaPlace, La.; two grandsons; and three nieces.

Memorials may be made to March of Dimes or the charity of one's choice.

He was married to Gladys Rose Huelster (daughter of Norbert Charles Huelster, Sr. and Lucille Elizabeth Smith) on 18 Apr 1945 in Odessa, Ector County, Texas. He was divorced from Gladys Rose Huelster before 1959. He was married to Gladys Rose Huelster after 1963. Eugene Parker Hunter and Gladys Rose Huelster had the following children:
